Solving Hyper Flash
On some exterior lighting installs, particularly turn signal, you can experience hyper flash or hyper blink. Hyper flash is when the turn signal blinks faster than normal. This is caused by the vehicle’s bulb monitoring system trying to communicate with the circuit. The computer senses a load and thus “knows” there is a bulb there in working condition. When you switch from a 25 watt (or more) halogen to a LED upgrade the computer might not receive the same load. Thus adding a resistor to the circuit mimics the load from the original bulb and gives the computer what it needs to feel happy and content with life. Below you will find a diagram of how to bridge the circuit and bring peace to your turn signal world.
